At 23-years-old, Workforce Australia client, Chase, was just starting to look for paid employment.
He hadn’t held a job or had any previous work experience when he met with Job Coach, Sarah, at the Ravenswood atWork Australia office.
Chase said he hadn’t worked before due to his mental health, lack of confidence and just not knowing where to start without any experience.
Sarah got to know Chase, and suggested he start by participating in our Powered by Positivum Warehousing course. The course would support his mental health and wellbeing, provide pre-employment training such as helping with his resume, and provide him with microcredentials in Warehousing.
The training provided a base to create a resume for Chase, and helped him start to build his skills towards a career he had expressed interest in.
Sarah also supported Chase to complete his White Card training, providing further items he could add to his resume.
Meanwhile, the Wellness component of the course supported Chase to build his confidence and fostered his wellbeing.
Chase then attended an employer open day where he met the recruiters from Programmed discussing upcoming opportunities in a local Yoghurt Factory.
The employers were impressed that Chase had his resume printed and ready to hand to them.
They were also impressed with his communication and enthusiasm to work.
Chase has recently been employed by Programmed and after two weeks in his first ever job he is already moving up to a new position, thanks to the support from Sarah and the atWork Australia team.
“Without the support from atWork Australia, I would not have gotten this opportunity or have known where to start. Sarah is awesome and was a great support and I am very thankful,” said Chase.
