Keziah (51) had just undergone a major change in her life. She had recently recovered from operations on her back and shoulder for chronic pain.
While she was managing her pain and health, she was out of employment for five years.
When she was ready to return to work, she had endurance limits and physical limits when it came to what kind of role she could do.
She came to atWork Australia in Miller, NSW, ready to regain financial independence, a sense of purpose and to improve her mindset.
Keziah worked with Job Coach Amanda and together they were able to find a role as a Support Worker.
To begin with, Keziah wasn’t meeting her benchmark working hours. Amanda was able to work with the employer to offer a wage subsidy to help increase Keziah’s hours.
Amanda said Keziah was happy; she was relieved to find sustainable work, and grateful for the support of atWork Australia.
“There is no better feeling than seeing your client happy and enjoying work.
I’m proud of the progress Keziah has made. I’m glad we could assist her in her journey to employment,” said Amanda.
“I feel more alive and that I can achieve things if I put my mind into it. Working makes me happy and helped get me out of feeling stressed and depressed,” – Keziah, DES Client, NSW
