Three years ago, registered nurse Natalie, had to step away from employment to look after her health and wellbeing.
As a nurse, Natalie knows the importance of looking after yourself, and her goal is to continue to help others in a health care setting.
She came to atWork Australia’s Disability Employment Services team in North Perth ready to return to work. She needed a role where she could prioritise her health, so full-time work wasn’t an option.
Natalie had also just recently moved to the North Perth area to be closer to family.
She was connected with Job Coach, Hau, who worked with Natalie to support her goal to return to work.
Having been unemployed for three years, Natalie needed financial support to obtain her nursing registration and update her qualifications.
The atWork Australia team then got to work contacting employers on behalf of Natalie looking for the right role for her.
Ideally a role where she could work towards her goal of helping others while still being able to look after her own health and wellbeing.
The team were able to find a role for Natalie working 15 hours a week.
“Natalie did really well in her interview, and was successful in obtaining the role,” said Hau.
“Her new employer is also supporting her with in-house training to update her skills.”
Natalie appreciated the help and support provided by the atWork Australia team on her journey back to employment.
