After three years of unemployment, Jodiell, a Workforce Australia client, was looking for part time role to financially support herself.
Jodiell lives with a mental health condition and was experiencing unstable housing. She was connected with Job Coach Wendy at the Mount Hawthorn, Western Australia atWork Australia office for support to find meaningful and sustainable employment.
Jodiell needed a part time role, which was close to home as she doesn’t drive, and she had little previous work experience.
She was unsure what types of roles would be available with her limitations and barriers.
Together, Jodiell and Job Coach Wendy looked at suitable roles in her nearby area. They practiced mock interviews and updated her resume.
Jodiell was also referred to our Wellness Service for additional support with her health and wellbeing.
When Jodiell landed an interview with a local cleaning company, atWork Australia supported her to purchase interview clothing to present her best self.
She enjoys cleaning and was very happy to be returning to work and doing something she enjoys doing.
“Jodiell had tears in her eyes when she told me she was successful at her interview. She was very grateful, and I was very proud of her achievement,” said Job Coach Wendy.
atWork Australia then supported Jodiell with work related clothing and organised a bus pass for days when she was unable to walk to work.
“My Job Coach supported me to engage with employers and was enthusiastic about supporting and encouraging me. To be employed, it’s the best feeling,” said Jodiell.
