Workforce Australia client, Vincent, has been unemployed for the past seven months and living with financial hardship. At the age of 46, the uncertainty of sustainable employment was seeming greater, and his optimism was decreasing.
He doubted himself often, so he reached out to the atWork Australia team for support and encouragement.
Upon entering the atWork Australia office in Morley, WA, he was met with his Job Coach, Yama. Within their initial appointment the pair got to know each other. They discussed Vincent’s employment history, his skills, and his goals for the future, in order to create a tailored job plan.
It was within this appointment that Vincent expressed an interest in fly in, fly out work (FIFO). Yama suggested to complete scaffolding training in hopes to bump into potential employers. Vincent was later enrolled in this course and the necessary Personal Protective Equipment was purchased by atWork Australia.
Whilst completing this course, Vincent also participated in our in-house Wellness Services to assist in overcoming his self-doubt and anxiety; both inside and outside the workplace.
After successfully obtaining his scaffolding ticket and regaining confidence within himself, he began to look for full-time positions in the field.
Within no time, Vincent was offered a full-time position as a Scaffolder with a local employer. Vincent is looking forward to working once again and is very thankful for the opportunity.
Vincent is grateful for all the tailored support he received from Yama and the atWork Australia team in Morley.
Thanks to their support, he now believes that he can do more with his life. He has mentioned that he will take his learnings into the future for further success.
