When 51-year-old Warren started working with atWork Australia, he was not ready to start work right away.
Workforce Australia Job Coach Krish, worked with Warren at the stage he was at, and developed a tailored plan to help support him back to employment.
Warren was living with physical and mental health, which he needed support with. Krish referred Warren into our Wellness Services for additional support.
After a while, Warren was ready to start opening up to Kris, and advised he wanted to upskill himself and was enrolled into a first aid certificate, and atWork Australia’s Powered by Positivum course to gain micro-credentials in hospitality.
“When Warren felt more confident and ready for work, I started approaching employers I knew would be a great supportive fit for Warren,” said Krish.
Krish was able to find Warren full time employment in a factory nearby his home.
As Warren didn’t have a Driver’s Licence or car, Krish supported him financially to top up his travel card to get to and from work.
“Warren was nervous to start work. He had been unemployed for 15 years and was worried he would be too slow for his new employer,” said Krish.
“However, his employer said they valued people who are confident, determined, and show initiative over skills and experience.”
“They have since said how much they also value how punctual and hardworking Warren is.”
“Warren has now transformed his outlook on life, realising his barriers have nothing to do with his capabilities to work and be successful in achieving his goals,” said Krish.
