Dean at SAFCOL talks about the partnership with atWork Australia and finding the right candidates.

My name is Dean Carlton and I’m the operations manager at SAFCOL South Australia as part of working in a fast mover moving consumer goods business, there is challenges every single day the major challenge that I face, and this business faces, is around staff retention, recruitment, absence, and performance. And that’s where atWork Australia come in and work collectively with SAFCOL to pre-screen, pre-interview, and source clients that we’ve got gaps for.

Behind the scenes we’ve got a good account manager in terms of Peter that works closely with the PNC manager Susan Collier and they source the right caliber of people for when we actually require them.

So we’ve had a number of clients from atWork Australia, in particular one that I will speak about, Kirsty, she came to us probably about six months ago and when we’re looking at candidates it’s more about the will, rather than the skill, and we’re looking for candidates that are willing to learn, you know willing to turn up on the shifts that we provide and do the best that they can do.

Kirsty is one of those people that comes to work and tries her best at everything she does and as a result she’s flourished. You know she started as a level one operative and she’s quickly gone to level two and I don’t see her stopping there and that’s the same as other candidates that’s been provided through atWork Australia, as well.

We’ve got all different backgrounds of people that work here and you know collectively we’re all here to, you know to, to make a difference and to make sure that this business is here for for years to come.

I think it’s really great that we’ve been put forward for these Awards and it just pays dividend in terms of the people behind the scenes like Peter and Susan that are working really really hard to source the right people for SAFCOL that makes this business better, more efficient, and sustainable for the future so long may the relationship continue.
