Workforce Australia client, Tash*, started working with the atWork Australia team in Clare, South Australia.
She had just moved to the area with her children and was unfamiliar with the job market in the region.
Tash was welcomed by pre-employment facilitator, Emma, who supported her to understand the requirements of the Workforce Australia program.
Tash was in the mandatory activation phase and was required to complete an activity.
The atWork Australia team helped her to enroll in an activity that suited her needs the most.
Tash expressed to the team that she felt her current training and qualifications were outdated.
So, they recommended a short course to gain hospitality skills.
“Hospitality is an industry in the Clare region which often has flexible hours that would work around Tash’s parenting responsibilities,” said Emma.
The team also supported Tash to update her resume.
It wasn’t long before the team presented Tash with an opportunity to work at a local fast food chain.
Tash was financially supported by the atWork Australia team to get her car up and running so she could start work.
They also supported her with work related clothing.
She is now thriving in employment and looking to continue updating her skills through the Money Minded financial literacy course.
Every year, atWork Australia help thousands of clients like Tash expand their skills and qualifications to help them gain the right job with the right employer. Call us today on 1300 080 856 or enquire online to find out how we can help you meet your career goals.
