Workforce Australia client, Nathan, from Morley in Western Australia, started working with his Job Coach, Yama, almost a year ago.
In the first few months, Yama and Nathan only spoke on the phone. Nathan was unmotivated to find employment believing his health and wellbeing barriers would prevent him from finding anything he enjoyed.
During this time, Yama got to know Nathan and slowly, together, they began working on small goals to address Nathan’s self-belief.

Nathan was referred to our internal Wellness Services to work on his health and wellbeing.
Yama celebrated this achievement with Nathan and continued to motivate and encourage him.
He started to learn what his employment goals and ambitions were, and they worked together on his resume.
When Nathan felt ready for work, Yama was able to encourage him to attend a face-to-face appointment.
In that very appointment, Yama recommended a role he thought would suit Nathan. He had already gotten to know him during their phone appointments and felt this was a good fit.
Nathan appreciated his recommendation, and he knew of the company as it had a great reputation as a supportive employer with a good culture.
“I needed a job and Yama helped me out. He went above and beyond to help me, finding a job during my first appointment with a highly regarded company,” said Nathan.
Yama supported Nathan to prepare for his interview and made sure he was financially supported to attend.
He also helped him to purchase work appropriate clothing.
After starting out unmotivated, Nathan has a newfound self-belief and is now working full time as a Customer Solution Specialist.
