At 28 years old, Disability Employment Services Client, Adis was wishing for a stable job. He wanted more independence and to do work that interested him and gave him sustainable employment.
After being without work for three and a half years, he was ready and motivated.
He started working with Job Coach, Tamar, at the atWork Australia office in Bonnyrigg, NSW.
Tamar got to know Adis, and he shared how his physical disability which impacts his arm and shoulder had affected his previous job searching.
“Adis was young, motivated and ready for work. He just needed a boost in his confidence,” said Job Coach Tamar.
atWork Australia financially supported Adis to obtain his forklift ticket, to open more opportunities to him.
While Tamar shared job searching and interviewing tips with Adis.
After only two months, Adis was successful in landing work as a general hand. He was then introduced to his In-Work Support Coach, Lydia who continues to support him with anything he needs in his new role.
“Adis has been feeling increasingly happy, stable, and more comfortable in his job,” said Lydia.
“His confidence and satisfaction with his work have grown significantly. He is now working a full-time job, which has provided him with a sense of security and fulfillment.”
Adis is now able to enjoy his weekends and is more independent thanks to meaningful and sustainable employment.
