“I feel that Trevor has helped me to maintain a positive attitude at work,” said Shelley, as she stands proudly in her McDonalds uniform.

Shelley lives with an intellectual disability. She has been supported by employment services including atWork Australia for the past 15 years to maintain her job.

She has worked at her local McDonalds for the past 15 years and was recently celebrated for her commitment to her role.

Every week, Shelley meets In-Work Support Coach, Trevor from the Warilla Disability Employment Services office, to help her maintain her employment.

“Shelley sometimes finds it hard to cope with workplace changes, or variations to her normal set work routines,” said Trevor.

“When I call, we discuss any changes or upcoming changes and work through them so she can maintain a job she really enjoys.”

When Shelley needs to learn a new task, Trevor will support her to learn that task. He also often speaks with the management team on her behalf to ensure she has the tools needed to succeed in her role.

Shelley has shared that without the support of atWork Australia she would not have been able to achieve this milestone.

“Shelley feels that she needs to have encouragement and support to stay in employment,” said Trevor.

“I feel that Trevor has helped me to maintain a positive attitude at work,” said Shelley.

atWork Australia would like to congratulate Shelley on this outstanding achievement to her role.
