When Workforce Australia client, Aaron, first connected with atWork Australia, he didn’t realise the full range of support he was going to find.
Aaron was living with chronic pain and other medical conditions which reduced his opportunities, as he needed to find a role which wouldn’t be too strenuous on his body.
He was open to looking at new opportunities that would suit his capabilities.
When Aaron was connected with Job Coach, Alexandra, at the atWork Australia Norlane office in Victoria, he was extremely grateful for the practical support she offered.
When Alexandra heard Aaron relied on public transport, which also required a long walk from home, she set out to assist Aaron to purchase a bicycle to help increase his job opportunities.
Aaron was eager to get back to work, and he managed to secure a job trial as a replenishment team member at a warehouse.
“When Aaron found out he had secured a job trial he called me right away in excitement,” said Alexandra.
“We were so excited when we heard he had been successful, and we supported him to obtain all the personal protective equipment he needed to start.”
Aaron’s new employer is flexible and supportive of his current capabilities, and he is looking forward to learning and growing in the role.
“Aaron has been extremely grateful throughout the whole process. He thought Employment Services only supported him applying for roles and was very appreciative of his PPE and bike,” said Alexandra.
“He expressed he felt really supported by the team.”
