Osama has regularly been applying for vacancies and despite his best efforts, he has had no success in securing employment. As his period of unemployment has grown longer, he was beginning to lose confidence in his ability to find employment.

The pair quickly developed a strong rapport, Magela could see his determination and she was committed to supporting him to achieve his goals. Osama had an open mind and was willing to consider a variety of employment options. Ideally, he suggested he would like to work in construction, as a delivery driver or in warehousing.
Magela thought these were all good options for Osama. She suggested to improve his chances of securing a position in one of these industries that atWork Australia could support him to obtain his White Card and Forklift ticket. Osama jumped at the chance to upskill and was grateful to gain new qualifications.
While Osama gained his new tickets, Magela arranged some financial support with food and fuel vouchers to help reduce the financial stress through this challenging period.
Completing these new qualifications has improved Osama’s confidence in his ability to return to work and he is starting to visualise a better future for his family.
With the added support of atWork Australia’s Employer Engagement Team, Osama was successful in securing a position as a Delivery Driver.
After securing employment, Osama now has a spring in his step, a smile on his face and a positive outlook for his future.
