Jayden is 25 and lives with Aspergers Syndrome. He was very keen to start working but was finding the opportunities limited and he needed extra support.
A Disability Employment Services client, Jayden connected with Job Coach Rachel in Caroline Springs, Victoria.
Jayden had determination, a great work ethic and drive to find employment. However, he found he needed extra support to thrive in his interviews, often arriving late because he would get lost on the way.
Job Coach Rachel supported Jayden to attend his interviews, often guiding him on the directions and making sure he arrived on time.
“Jayden was so eager to start work and was willing to attend any interviews or job trails offered to him. He was willing to go above and beyond to find work,” said Rachel.
Rachel knew Jayden would excel in a role because of his attitude and determination.
Jayden landed a cleaning role and was so excited to start that the atWork Australia team had limited time to prepare him for the role.
“We quickly organised work clothing for Jayden that day, so he could attend his first day of work the next day,” said Rachel.
“Jayden’s reaction to getting the job was ecstatic, he was so eager to get started.”
atWork Australia’s In-Work support coach Renee, visited Jayden in his workplace to support him with his time management.
“He needed assistance overcoming this barrier, so his support team went in to show him with real in work examples on how to better manager his time.”
“Jayden is a hard reliable worker, I’m very proud of his achievements.”
“My Job Coach has helped me so much. I’m looking forward to what opportunities working in this industry will bring me,” said Jayden.
