Tailored servicing from atWork Australia in Clare, SA, leads Workforce Australia client, Nicole, to success after two years of inconsistent work.
When she entered atWork Australia, 48-year-old Nicole was faced with a range of physical and mental barriers, impacting her current working hours. She also lived in a regional location further limiting the job opportunities available.
As Job Coach, Anika, got to know Nicole, she could sense how overwhelmed she currently was, and how she was not currently ready for employment.
To ensure Nicole was comfortable, and confident, Nicole and Anika had a conversation about how they could tailor her Points Based Activations System (PBAS) so that she could still meet her monthly requirements, while prioritising her mental health.
With her mental health in mind, Anika also enrolled Nicole in our in-house Wellness Services. In these sessions, Nicole was able to speak with a licensed health professional.
Whilst attending these appointments, Anika was searching for suitable positions for her. These positions considered her previous experience, interests, work hours and location requirements.
After finding a Kitchen Hand part-time position within her region, Anika spoke with Nicole, and she was eager to apply.
Nicole found the resume and interview stage of her journey the most stressful. Anika connected Nicole with Pre-employment Trainer, Emma, for assistance.
“Nicole showed determination from the get-go. Despite her barriers and challenges, she maintained a cheerful and optimistic attitude, while grateful for the help and assistance that atWork Australia could offer,” said Emma.
Nicole was incredibly grateful for the additional support offered by Emma and Anika, and excitedly called to say thank you on gaining the job interview.
“This new position will provide better work life balance, a more stable position and better income for her and her family,” said Emma.
Nicole was earlier enrolled within MoneyMinded, and quickly put her newfound money managing skills to use after securing her position.
“Two steps forward and one step back is still a step forward. You won’t know if you don’t give it a go.” – Nicole, atWork Australia client.
