Losa is a mother of three children with the youngest aged almost two.
She connected with atWork Australia in Hamilton Hill, WA through the ParentsNext program back in 2018, before her youngest was born.
When Losa first connected with atWork Australia, she had no clear direction on her training and employment goals.
To begin with, Losa and her Job Coach Liliana focused on working through her health and wellbeing and she participated in self-care activities to improve her confidence within herself.
She was also encouraged to participate in the local Storytime program at the Collbellup Public Library as a chance to engage and socialise with her peers.
Over the years, Losa was supported to engage in many different activities and with the guidance and support of her Job Coach, Liliana, Losa decided to pursue a career in Aged Care.
Once Losa decided Aged Care was her way forward, atWork Australia supported her by funding a Certificate lll in Aged Care.
Once she successfully completed her studies, Losa was further supported through fuel vouchers to attend interviews along with financial support for the clothing and footwear she required, and the police check.
Liliana also worked with Losa to learn job search skills and practice interviews.
Losa is now successfully employed in the Aged Care industry while she continues to care for her family.
“I would not be in the situation I am now without the assistance and support from atWork Australia ParentsNext. My Job Coach boosted my confidence to be able to achieve my educational and employment goals,” said Losa.
