Jane was a Job Coach with atWork Australia before she transitioned into her role as an Employer Engagement Consultant.
As an Employer Engagement Consultant, her role is to reach out to employers and connecting clients to roles that are the right fit.
For Jane, she enjoys connecting clients to employers which result in long-term meaningful work opportunities.
“One of my clients, a woman in her 50’s, shared with me that she wanted to work in security but felt it wasn’t a job for women of her age,” said Jane.
Jane disagreed, believing that all work is suitable if you can find the right opportunity.
Jane’s client was enrolled in a security course within the month. It wasn’t long before an employer reached out to Jane looking for someone to work in a security role at a university, and that employer was looking for diverse candidates – even mentioning mature aged women.
Jane thought of her client immediately, and she landed the role.
“My client’s confidence level has improved so much; she is now considering getting her licence for the first time in her 50’s. She has never driven before,” said Jane.
“I love it when I can help change a life, no matter how big or small,” said Jane.
“I enjoy working with the different employers and meeting all the clients in person. They are all completely different and I embrace their differences.”
Outside of work, Jane adores fashion. Before her work in employment services she worked as a talent and model booker for fashion shows in Australia, Paris and London.
“It was still a form of recruitment just a little different,” said Jane.
