Workforce Australia client Mark (32) from Shellharbour in New South Wales had only been with atWork Australia for a short time when he found himself a role as a labourer.
atWork Australia supported Mark to thrive in his new role by supporting him to reach his employment goals through qualifications.
Mark met atWork Australia’s Job Coach Christina over the phone when she called Mark to get to know him and book in his first meeting.
Right before the pair were due to meet in person, Mark landed himself a role as a labourer.
“Even though I had just met Mark, I was very happy for him. I asked him if there was anything else we could do to help him maintain his new employment,” said Christina.
“That’s when he mentioned he needed appropriate work-related clothing.”
atWork Australia supported Mark to purchase the correct uniform he needed for his role including personal protective equipment.
“During Mark’s next appointment, he let us know that if he completed a number of courses his new employer could guarantee him additional hours.”
atWork Australia then helped Mark complete two certificates his new employer required to provide Mark with additional hours. One, a gas detection certificate and the other an elevated work platform ticket.
Once Mark completed the extra qualifications and work-related tickets, he was given the additional hours he wanted to achieve his employment goals.
“Mark’s confidence has greatly improved since he finished his certificates. He is now giving back to others in the Workforce Australia program,” said Christina. Mark now lets atWork Australia know when other positions become available with his employer to give atWork Australia Workforce Australia clients the opportunity to apply.
Every year, atWork Australia helps thousands of clients like Mark expand their skills and qualifications to help them gain the right job with the right employer. Call us today on 1300 080 856 or enquire online to find out how we can help you meet your career goals.
