Before he was a Job Coach, Layne was working as a car salesperson and a real estate agent. He made the switch to employment services as he wanted to give back and help people.
“I enjoy working as a Job Coach due to the feeling I get of being able to help someone get back into the workforce,” said Layne.
“I am always doing my best to help clients find the best role for them.”
One of Layne’s most memorable clients was someone he helped regain their confidence.
“My client was very anxious and embarrassed when she first came into the office,” said Layne.
“I helped work on their confidence to be able to get back out into the workforce.”
By attending her fortnightly appointments, the client became visibly more confident and comfortable, and then trusted Layne enough to apply for a role.
“It made the client feel a lot more confident in themselves and they realised that no matter how low they might feel, it is possible to come back to the top.”
“It is important for the client to feel this, so they don’t doubt themselves anymore returning to work.”
What Layne’s clients might not know about him, is that in his younger years he was a successful athlete. Playing Oztag at a National level.
He still plays Oztag and Touch Footy but on more of a social level now.
