Disability Employment Services client, Kayleen, has a goal to work from home. As a mother with caring responsibilities, Kayleen is also responsible for the care of her elderly mother who lives with her.
“Kayleen came into the atWork Australia office to further her education, so she could find a work from home position so she can continue to support and care for her mother,” said atWork Australia team member, Christina.
Kayleen was connected with the atWork Australia site in Pinjarra, WA. The team have supported her to sign up for a Certificate III in Business to help her reach her long-term goal of working from home.
Kayleen was able to complete the course from home in a flexible way which allowed her to study and still care for her mother.
The atWork Australia team helped Kayleen purchase a laptop to complete her studies. During her study, Kayleen often found it challenging to find the time to dedicate to finishing the course.
Christina worked with Kayleen to help her to finish her modules, and she has successfully completed her first semester, something she is very proud of.
“Kayleen is so proud of herself for completing her first semester. She was excited to share the news with her children,” said Christina.
Kayleen is looking forward to completing her studies and growing her opportunities to find work from home employment.
