Workforce Australia client, Jossua, entered the office with a part-time job as a Security Officer, however, was looking for additional work during school hours to support his young children.
Jossua recently lost his wife and mother of his 3- and 5-year-old children. He was experiencing grief trauma from his loss which led to stress and sleeping problems.
When entering the atWork Australia office in Morley, WA, he was met with Job Coach Anita. Within his initial appointment, the pair discussed Jossua’s current situation, how we can support, as well as his goals and how the PBAS system works.
Jossua expressed interest in finding a second job during school hours to further support his children. The job had to be within school hours as he has little family support to care for his children.
Jossua and Anita then created a tailored job plan to his wants and needs, so that he can get were he wants to be.
Jossua was offered our in-house Wellness Services to support his grief and mental health. He engaged with the wellness advisors regularly and found it very helpful.
Through Anita’s job searches, she found a suitable position as a Picker Packer with a local warehouse. After a successful interview, Jossua was offered the position and is due to commence in early February.
Jossua enjoyed the flexibility of the PBAS system and found it easy to always meet his targets.
He is very appreciative for all the assistance and support services he has received from Anita and the local atWork Australia team.
Employment has made a difference to, not only his life, but his children too.
The In-Work Support team look forward to assisting Jossua in the transition to his new work.
“Jossua has come a long way, he is very focused. He pushes through each day.” – Anita, Job Coach.
