I am very happy with my job. Thank you, Jaswin, for always going that extra mile to help me, having belief in me and helping me find a suitable job, said client Jessie.

Disability Employment Services client, Jessie*, started working with the atWork Australia team in Cronulla, New South Wales.

At 64 years of age, Jessie had a range of health conditions and lives with anxiety.

She had been looking for work for almost a year, and as the time progressed, she became less motivated to find employment.

Her Job Coach, Jaswin, could see her motivation starting to slip, and focused on encouraging her to keep looking for opportunities.

When an opportunity for employment came up at the local McDonalds, Jaswin asked Jessie if she would be interested.

atWork Australia has a strong relationship with McDonalds and understand they are an inclusive and flexible workplace.

Jaswin explained to Jessie that the role would allow her to work 15 hours a week within her health and wellness capabilities.

Jessie accepted the role.

Her new employer allowed her to start off working morning shifts, as Jessie began to feel tired in the afternoons.

However, she had recently started working afternoon shifts with support from the atWork Australia team and her employer.

“Jessie’s family is really proud of her, as am I,” said Job Coach, Jaswin.

“She now has her confidence back.”
