Workforce Australia client, Hayley, was looking for permanent housing for herself and her children.
She had been out of the workforce for a little while and was unsure how she was going to find work within her caring responsibilities as a mother, while also working through her personal circumstances.
When she started working with the Midland, Workforce Australia team at the Midland atWork Australia office, she had lost her confidence.
Job Coach, Racheal, first supported Hayley by putting her in touch with community services to support her, and referred her to our Wellness Services team for further support.
When Hayley realised the team were here to support her and work with her on her individual needs and goals, she slowly started to regain her confidence.
Hayley spoke to the team about her employment goals.
She needed a job close to home and within school hours so she could continue to care for her children.
The team worked on Hayley’s resume and helped her to purchase interview clothes, so she could feel her best and most confident self in interviews.
Hayley soon landed a role as a Customer Service Advisor working 9.30 to 2.30 which suited her perfectly.
The confidence she gained also extended into her life in other ways.
“Working has helped give me confidence in other areas of my life, for example joining my child’s Parents, Carers and Community Committee (P&C). I am now the secretary,” said Hayley.
“atWork Australia supported me when I went through some personal issues, which really helped me.”
“I feel I have the perfect job, thanks to the atWork Australia team.”
