Heather was looking for a new start and moved interstate to Western Australia. Heather had low self-confidence and had been out of the workforce for some time. Uninspired to find employment, Heather took the leap and reached out to atWork Australia, Kwinana, for support.
Not knowing where to start, Heather was connected to local Job Coach, Natalie, and the pair got started on forming a plan and setting some goals.
As the first step on the journey, Natalie worked with Heather to change her thinking and turn her negativity into a positive can-do attitude.
Heather was feeling good. Her confidence was allowing her to become more independent and have something to look forward to.
So, Heather and Natalie started working together on crafting a resume; within no time, Heather attended a First Steps to Success event to meet with local employers, training organisations and community organisations.
Natalie had pre-arranged for Heather to meet the local Employer Engagement Consultant who was able to introduce Heather to an employer who enjoyed the opportunity to speak with her at the event.
Heather handed over her new resume to the employer and after reviewing her skills and experience, they offered Heather a role as an Education Assistant on a part-time basis.
Heather was thrilled. She had always felt inspired when she came into the office, and with some additional support, Heather has been able to start a new chapter in her life and has a brighter future ahead.
