At 60 years old, Glenn found himself unemployed due to a serious health setback.
He was unemployed for two years when he was transferred to Disability Employment Services. It was here he met Job Coach, Shannon, at the atWork Australia office in Mowbray, Tasmania.
Glenn’s health barriers were preventing him from driving or doing any kind of physical work.
He shared with Shannon that this was the type of work he enjoyed and wanted to return to as his employment goal.
The team encouraged Glenn to focus on his health, and in the meantime, they prepared his resume and a Police check.
When Glenn got the “all clear” from his health professional that he could drive again, the team was ready to support him to find employment.
Through the atWork Australia Employer Engagement Team, Glenn quickly landed a role as a Delivery Driver for Australia post.
The team supported Glenn to complete his online onboarding for the role. He attended the office early in the morning to get help from Shannon to complete the training.

“It has made a huge change for Glenn to recover from a serious health issue and be able to return to work. It has improved his confidence, wellbeing and helps him keep making positive health changes in life.”
