“My journey with Employment Services started 17 years ago,” said Service Manager, Frances.
Before Frances started in Employment Services, she worked in retail and hospitality while studying Community Services. She is also known for calling bingo at her local club.
When she first started in the industry, she supported a client who lives with a hearing impairment into a factory warehouse role.
“He is still working to this day at the same warehouse, 16 years later,” said Frances.
Frances enjoys helping and motivating people. She enjoys working within a team who all believe that ‘work’s for everyone’ and are passionate about helping others.
Her best memories are when a client feels a huge amount of joy from finding meaningful work.
“My most memorable client, is a young person who lives with an intellectual disability who I placed into a timber warehousing role,” said Frances.
“He was shy and unsure what he wanted to do, as he had only worked with his uncle in a warehouse environment.”
“When that business closed, he was left unemployed. I supported him to obtain the new role, and he has been working there for two years.”
“He is doing so well in the role but most importantly it has changed his life. He feels he has purpose and has come out of his shell. He goes to work with an infectious smile, has a voice and sings in the warehouse.”
When she isn’t at work, Frances enjoys time at the beach with her family and friends.
