Dylan has recently had experience with the justice system and has been adjusting to his change in lifestyle.
He came to atWork Australia’s Warrawong Office and met with Job Coach, Ryleigh, for support to get back into employment.
Ryleigh connected Dylan with our Wellness Services so he could work on his mental health to feel more prepared to enter the workforce. Here the team helped Dylan to find a better night’s rest, essential for wellbeing, through a sleep schedule.
When Dylan was feeling more confident, he started to set some goals with Ryleigh. His first goal was to gain his license so he could move around more independently.
atWork Australia supported financially with driving lessons so Dylan could gain his license.
“The journey to employment takes many steps and it is great to see the progress Dylan is making. Once he could get a good night’s sleep, and started achieving goals in his personal life, he felt more confident to start working,” said Job Coach, Ryleigh.
Dylan then attended an interview for a machine operator role. He attended a trial and was offered the job the same day.
atWork Australia helped Dylan purchase the uniform he required to support him at this stage of his employment.
Once Dylan starts work, he will continue to access Wellness Support through the Wellness atWork Support program and will be able to access In-Work support from atWork Australia to help him maintain his employment.
“Dylan has come a long way since first registering with atWork Australia. He should be proud of himself for setting goals and striving to reach them. I look forward to watching Dylan reach his full potential and settle into his new lifestyle.” – Ryleigh, Job Coach, NSW
