In July, when entering the atWork Australia office in Brunswick, VIC, Danika was shy, anxious and was living with panic attacks. She was nervous to take the next steps on her employment journey.
She was searching for work and was eager to return despite her anxiousness. These feelings were discussed with her Job Coach, Daniel, within their first appointment together.
Daniel got to know Danika, her skills, interests and previous working history. She shared that she had a history of working within call centres.
Daniel worked with Danika to find positions that interested Danika Including call centre roles.
Daniel encouraged Danika to attend a local pre-employment program being run by atWork Australia, in partnership with a local call centre.
The three-day program allowed clients to get to know the business via an information session with the employer. They also participated in training modules to prepare to work with the employer.
“This program was best suited to Danika as it allowed her to get to know the business and the roles on offer, easing her nerves,” said Pre-employment Facilitator, Preet.
“She had what she needed to thrive in the position, she just needed time with the employer to remember her skills and people reminding her of that.”
After making a solid impression within the program, Danika was invited to an interview and was successful in securing a part time position as a call centre consultant.
