Constantino is a passionate gardener, a volunteer in the community, and lives with a mental health condition.
He recently had to let go of his support worker which caused him some additional stress. He came to atWork Australia in Clarkson lacking motivation.
Constantino was studying Horticulture at Tafe, and due to his gardening knowledge, it was easy to find him a casual gardener role that suited his skills and passions. But for Constantino, he thrived with atWork Australia’s In-Work support.
atWork Australia’s In-Work support program is designed to provide clients, like Constantino, with support and assistance after they begin work and as circumstances and barriers may change or be an influence on life at every stage of the employment journey.
For Constantino, he often needed someone to chat with when he was feeling unmotivated. Someone to encourage him and remind him of the positive aspects of continuing with work.
In-Work Support coach, Ella, has been providing fortnightly contacts with Constantino, providing support and an empathetic and understanding ear.
“Constantino is very passionate about gardening. I help him keep up his positive attitude by reminding him of his hobbies and how his work keeps him connected to the community, which he enjoys,” said Ella.
Ella also provided practical assistance by helping Constantino with the correct Personal Protective Equipment he needs to succeed in his role.
“I don’t know what the future holds but as long as I stay employed, I know I will stay happy,” said Constantino.
“Constantino just reached 13-weeks of employment, which is a major milestone for him, and we are proud of his achievements,” said Ella.
Every year, atWork Australia helps thousands of clients like Constantino expand their skills and qualifications to help them gain the right job with the right employer. Call us today on 1300 080 856 or enquire online to find out how we can help you meet your career goals.
