atWork Australia’s Mirrabooka office opened their doors for a hugely successful CALD Couch this week which saw more than 50 CALD job seekers come through the doors.
Organised by our WA jobactive team, CALD Couch events offer support to culturally and linguistically diverse communities. We know that people living in culturally and linguistically diverse communities across Australia face many hurdles in their search for work. The CALD Couch provides an opportunity for job seekers from CALD communities to:
- Find out about training opportunities
- Practice their interview skills
- Connect with local employers committed to improving diversity in the workplace
In attendance to help and support CALD job seekers were Dress for Success, Sisters Hand in Hand, Helping Solutions, Max Solutions, Centrecare, and Training Alliance Group, and a local food vendor made some absolutely delicious halal kebabs.
