PERTH – atWork Australia is proud to have nominated two finalists in the 2019 National Employment Services Association (NESA) Awards for Excellence. The NESA Awards for Excellence are offered each year for outstanding performance and achievement within the employment services sector.
The 2019 atWork Australia nominated finalists are Stellar, in the Champion Employer of the Year Award and Arron Little, in the Achiever of the Year Award.
Michael Kolomyjec, Group Executive for Employment Services at atWork Australia said, “We have a long history of success at the NESA awards and are once again thrilled to be recognised, particularly given the record number and high caliber of nominees this year.”
The Champion Employer of the Year Award recognises employers, like Stellar, who go the extra mile to offer employment opportunities to some of Australia’s most disadvantaged job seekers.
“Organisations who work with employment services providers to open up opportunities for disadvantaged job seekers set such a positive example,” said NESA CEO Sally Sinclair. “It’s an honour to recognise these organisations in our national awards.”
The partnership between atWork Australia and Stellar only began last year but has already seen close to 130 Australians placed into employment during that time. Stellar is a true embodiment of what it means to be an inclusive and supportive employer and this prestigious honour reflects their commitment to helping people previously struggling to get permanent employment.
The Achiever of the Year Award is for an Australian job seeker who has shown single-minded determination in overcoming considerable hurdles to turn their life around and move into stable employment.
“Our Achiever of the Year Award highlights not just hard work and admirable resilience, but also making the most of the supports offered by employment services providers,” said NESA CEO Sally Sinclair.
Arron Little, a 26-year-old Indigenous Australian male from WA has faced numerous significant challenges in his life and has shown extraordinary commitment to working towards overcoming them, with help and guidance from his Employment Consultant at atWork Australia. Arron has been employed as a Forklift Operator for the past six months and has seen first-hand the way in which employment can enrich a life.
Entries for the awards were received from all over Australia, with a comprehensive judging panel process occurring before finalists were decided. Winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Dinner on the 13th August, part of the NESA National Conference, to be held at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on the 13th-14th of August 2019.
