Workforce Australia client, Elizabeth, has experienced big challenges in her life. As a refugee now living in Australia and as a single mother.
She met Job Coach, Anthonette at the Munno Parra, SA, atWork Australia office.
Elizabeth was open to all kinds of work. She was, however, limited by opportunities within school hours due to her caring commitments. She also had limited work experience and needed support with her literacy and numeracy.
Elizabeth had an amazingly positive attitude and willingness to work hard, which her Job Coach, Anthonette, could see.
Anthonette supported Elizabeth to enroll in the SEE program to build her literacy and numeracy skills while supporting her to gain a police check and working with children check, so she was ready for any opportunity.
Anthonette suggested Elizabeth attend atWork Australia’s First Steps to Success event.
An event where employers ready to hire, come together with clients in the atWork Australia office.
It was a perfect opportunity for Elizabeth to showcase her personal skills and attitude while hearing about local opportunities.
It was at this event that Elizabeth met a local cleaning company who were looking for staff to work during school hours.
This was the perfect opportunity for her, and she was successful in her interview with the company.
Elizabeth is now thriving in the right role for her. “I am so happy to be employed,” said Elizabeth.
