Andreia from Spearwood was referred to the ParentsNext program in October 2018, as a single parent who was looking at pathways to sustainable employment.
Julie, atWork Australia’s ParentsNext Coordinator in the Spearwood Offices met with Andreia to assist her to identify her employment goal as well as support her to work through her personal issues. Andreia had always wanted to work as a bus driver, and this became her employment goal.
Julie and her team supported Andreia to gain her Heavy Rigid (HR) licence and to obtain her Bus F Endorsement, which is required for operation of a taxi, livery vehicle, service bus, motor bus or motor coach. Julie also updated Andreia’s Resume and continued to encourage her during the licensing process.
Andreia is now employed full time as a Bus Driver and she could not be happier.
“I was given so much encouragement to end up in my dream job behind the wheel of a bus! I would like to thank Julie and the ParentsNext program for the support and assistance I received and would highly recommend this program to other parents looking to achieve their goals”.
