Amy was referred to atWork Australia’s ParentsNext Program at their Gosnells offices. She was a single mother of two young children who was midway through her Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
Amy was keen to complete her course although she was experiencing several personal issues and therefore placed her studies on hold. Amy’s ParentsNext Support Consultant arranged counselling from atWork Australia’s psychological services and after a period she was able to recommence her studies and finish her Diploma.
Amy’s long-term goal was to open and run her own Beauty Therapy business from home. Following a training skills analysis, her Support Consultant recommended that Amy complete a Certificate 111 in Business to assist her to the learn the necessary skills to run a business. She was also provided with a laptop to complete the online qualification.
Now Amy is ready to fulfil her career dreams as a Beauty Therapist business owner and is full of confidence to embark on this exciting career journey. She can also confidently work for home, whilst caring for her young children.
Amy said that ‘I am extremely grateful for ParentsNext, particularly my Support Consultant’s unwavering support and would highly recommend this program to other parents wishing to set and achieve their employment goals’.
