It's a Numbers Game!

Kevin is one of atWork Australia’s Northbridge clients. He is a mature aged, job seeker who has been with registered with Centrelink for almost 3 years. His last full-time employment was in 2001 as a Business Systems Coordinator.
After 2 years without work, Kevin decided that study was the best option and spent the next 4 years in this pursuit. This left him with a noticeable lack of confidence when faced with re-entering the workforce. His Case Manager, Donna, encouraged him to take part in the supported job search programme running 3 days a week covering the basic job search skills such as developing effective applications and letters and tailoring his resume to suit each application.
Having tried a sales job early in March, he quickly realised that his skills set were better matched to a more practical role. Debbie, the Northbridge Marketer visited Metro Filters and gained an opportunity for Kevin as a bookkeeper, beginning on 23rd March to work in their Accounts department.
atWork Australia supported him further by purchasing work clothing out of the job seeker account, and a MYOB book, to assist as a quick reference guide to use at work and to update his knowledge. The Reverse Marketer even managed to negotiate a pay increase with the employer. As a result Kevin has remained in employment for 4 months and is extremely happy with his role and equally, so is the employer.
