From Uncertain to Unstoppable!

Gayle (PSP Coordinator at Mirrabooka) first identified the need for her client to develop some self-assurance. As a result she referred her to the ’NOW’ programme at TAFE.
Having completed the ‘NOW’ course, Gayle worked with the client to further develop her confidence levels by working with her doing mock interviews to get her ready for facing new employment opportunities. Once she had completed this and Gayle felt she was ready to go further, she liaised with Jacqui (Site Manager) to find the smoothest way of moving Claire into the Job Network system. To this end, Jacqui worked as the Case Manager with the client and advanced her interview skills to the next level ready for actual employers.
The next step in this plan was an interview with Myer for one of their advertised retail positions. Claire attended the interview and was delighted when she successfully went through the first round of interviews to be invited back for a second interview. This too went well and was followed by completing an on-line questionnaire with Jacqui’s assistance and encouragement.
In the meantime a new position was advertised for an Administrative Assistant which was exactly what Claire was hoping for in the long term. She successfully went through the interview process starting work on 25th September and is currently working from 9am until 2pm each day at their Morley branch.
She has now been happily working at Myers for 4 weeks now, but is still in close contact with both Jacqui, from Job Network and Gayle from PSP. This has kept her confidence boosted and given her that additional support needed to retain her positive outlook.
