atWork Invests In Ongoing Skills Development

10/01/2011

atWork Australia have announced that 12 staff members have successfully completed a Certificate IV in Career Development & Employment Services. The course was conducted during 2010 using various methods of education delivery including formal lectures, on the job training, evidence based learning and practical application of skills.
The Certificate IV in Career Development & Employment Services equips students with the understanding of access and equity issues including cultural diversity relevant to Job Seekers from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander background as well as disability issues that can be prevalent in these communities. It enables them to have the communication, planning and procedural skills to work effectively with these communities to deliver employment programs and services.
This successful upskilling of employees was the result of a partnership between atWork Australia and Betterlink Group, a Perth based business consultancy and training services provider. CEO of Betterlink Group, Paul Morgan delivered some of the training along with facilitator Lesley West.
This investment demonstrates the commitment of atWork Australia to the career and skills development of staff and acknowledges that to successfully assist indigenous communities requires specialised skills and capabilities.
